Colombia. ANRACI, the Fire Protection Guild, announced that Colombia will have a Colombian Fire Code, after having reached an agreement with Icontec for the creation of a Colombian Technical Standard (NTC), through which the Colombian Fire Code is established, an initiative that aims to strengthen the regulatory context in this country around the specialty.
In this way, Icontec created a Temporary Committee for the review and approval of the Colombian Fire Code, taking into consideration that the document in question involves many specialties (Extinguishing Systems, Detection and Alarm Systems, Passive Protection Systems, Portable Fire Extinguishers, Fire Management, Life Safety, among others) that require the multidisciplinary participation of professionals who contribute their knowledge and experience for the benefit of the community. normalization in the country.
Thus, ANRACI officially opened a call for the Fire Protection community to join the Temporary Committee previously described.
All experts in the sector, regardless of their basic profession, can participate in this Committee, as part of this important project, it is only necessary to fill out the form that is available through the following link: https://forms.gle/mYWgPmNf7NCrtk4F7.
In operational terms, it is contemplated that this committee will meet once a month to review progress and analyze the proposals, in this sense it is important to mention that the schedule established together with Icontec implies having the document finalized during 2024, so that in 2025 the issuance processes are made. This is a short-term project that will have a quick impact.
