International. Mercury Security and HID today announced next-generation Mercury MP controllers, designed to deliver greater flexibility and security for businesses of all sizes.
As technology advances, access control systems require robust encryption and advanced threat detection. The new Mercury MP controllers enable access control software vendors and integrators to easily combine a wide range of access control, elevator control, building automation, IoT applications, and third-party solutions into a unified, centralized, and fully robust infrastructure.
This open approach provides the freedom to choose the right solution for the customer's specific requirements.
The new smart controllers were designed with advanced security features to protect sensitive data and help prevent evolving cyber threats. A robust cryptographic engine, backed by a secure boot CPU, cryptography chip, and data encryption, aim to provide proactive protection against unauthorized access and attacks.
"In today's dynamic business environment, organizations demand access control solutions that are secure and reliable, but also flexible enough to adapt to changing needs," says Steve Lucas, vice president of OEM Sales at Mercury Security. "The new MP controllers meet these critical requirements, enabling enterprises to create robust, future-proof access control systems, with a higher return on investment, scalability and cybersecurity at their core."
Mercury MP drivers provide partners and end users:
- Flexibility: The freedom to design and upgrade systems without limiting software and hardware options, and seamlessly integrate the latest technologies without costly technology replacement projects. This flexibility extends to OEMs, allowing them to seamlessly integrate controllers with both on-premises and cloud-based access control environments.
- Scalability: The ability to satisfy system architecture from a single door to an entire enterprise.
- Increased security: Support for physical and cyber security features to help keep networks and data safe.
- Reliability: The peace of mind of having invested in reliable and trusted hardware recognized by the entire industry.
In addition, they offer new features, such as a dual-footprint circuit design with alternative components that ensures continuous operation, a future-proof application development environment for more integrations, and the adoption of cybersecurity best practices to protect systems, such as ARM TrustZone.
MP drivers will be available in late 2024 through Mercury's OEM partners.
